HUNTER S. THOMPSON: Dead at 67

What a truly sad day. Our hero journalist and all time weird decided to end his life. In turn, we lose a great one. Hunter S. was the poet of our time, daring to strip reality to is lowest terms, and nevertheless, making the journey fun. His adage followed that of the Pranksters with their ‘Be Here Now’ mantra. He told it how it was - the necessary absurdity, the ridiculous interpretation of fantasy, the uncomfortable moments in life...

He taught me that life is about living and that democracy is not about peddling, but about personal pragmatisms. He made me realize how important being you truly is... how important it is to others. He understood the painful notions that nobody would want to deal with and made them work to his advantage. He uncovered the slime and threw out the trash. He understood the soul and its complexities, all of which religion or science will never explain. He was the man of the hour, the one in the shadows, the jester. Life was a circus, and he chose to live in it.

Here's to you Hunter S., see you on the other side...
