Supremes rule that corporations can take your house

Power of eminent domain is widened. Now, regular folks that happen to sit on prime property have no say when companies want to set up shop. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of property only apply to corporations. The rest of us be damned.

Justice O'Connor warned: "Under the banner of economic development, all private property is now vulnerable to being taken and transferred to another private owner, so long as it might be upgraded..."

I would have to say that is an understatement. Proponents say that average Americans should not worry about this ruling. But given the track record of so-called corporate responsibility on issues like environment, worker rights, and public use, it is an outrage to think that your land is not secure.
