This Iraq thing is getting way out of hand. These fascists running our government right now need to go. And, yes, the tactics that the US pResident is imposing right now are similar to that of Hitler. I mean, people, let's face it. This isn't rocket science. It is quite obvious that w and his cronies are the only ones that will benefit.

Go look up the meaning of fascism in a dictionary, then come back to me and argue why w is "doing" a good job.

Arianna Huffington continues her assault on the 'war on drugs.' She brings up very good points, especially the one about how the government seems to be blitzgrieging only California Medical Marijuana organizations, while refraining from any action inthe other 12 States that have passed pro-medical marijuana laws. Could this be a payback for our constant dissent for the pResident in Chief? Smile...

Some news from Pakistan. Hamid Mir is a journalist who has had the chance to speak with several members of the Taliban, as well as bin Laden, himself. This is interesting and well worth the read. I would venture to say that the oil connections will be becoming more clear as Chimp and his oil men pursue war with Iraq. Consider the geographical significance of a US-controlled regime in Iraq. Thanks Random Man for the info on this.

Where is he? War on what? The pResident in chief's hawkisk general stated this morning that we were a success in Afghanistan... Hmmm? I don't recall us ever finding or hunting down he-who-must-not-be-named. Maybe he is in Iraq? Animator, Mark Fiore will shed some light on this...

Chomsky gives us the point of view from the rest of the world on why attacking Iraq may breed more terror. You would think that this prevailing thought would sink in with at least one brain in the white house. Maybe I am being too optimistic...

A president's insecurity detail

In their Olympic moment, Romney recalls Bush's worry
By Chris Tangney, 9/5/2002

Republican gubernatorial candidate Mitt Romney, speaking before business leaders yesterday, recalling the Olympic opening ceremony last winter:

''The television audience was estimated at 3.5 billion, more than half the population of the planet. And I'm standing next to the president of the United States, and what I thought to myself is, when we go out there, what does he think? You know what, the president of the United States, as he goes out to an audience like that, with three and a half billion people looking at him, he turned to me and he said, `Do I look fat?'''

Dick Cheney, American Warmonger / In which the pallid, angry veep fervently urges bombing the hell out of Iraq, because he just can't help it

Mark Morford explains it well. And check out the scary picture that he included. Wow! Houston, we have a problem. A big problem. And if you think that buck everyone is always talking about stops, you got another thing coming. Keep of the voice of dissent!

On another note, before I continue my rants pertaing to matters of war and peace, I wanted to throw out this side note by Krugman of the Times. It brings to light the ever increasing awareness of the Media's timid and unbalanced approach to all things W. But there is always a story behind a story, and Krugman concludes, "A habit of ignoring inconvenient reality, and presuming that the docile media will go along, soon infects all aspects of policy." What? Haven't we seen this before?
The Bully's Pulpit

Those yahoos at Fox are a real piece of work. This story disgusts me to no end. Champions of Hope spokesman Edward Gerety, who pushed to promote its United Day of Service campaign by wooing the American Idol people to make the 9/11 event work, commented: "I don't see this as a commercial issue at all." Right... Sure it isn't?!?
