That Dog Will Hunt

Rove has got to go. He is a traitor by leaking the name of a CIA Agent and Bush is going back on his promise to fire the person who leaked the identity to Robert Novak.

White House Silence on Rove's Role in Leak Enters 2nd Day

Brendan Murray of Bloomberg news reported today:

"The July 18 issue of Newsweek reported that Rove told Time magazine reporter Matthew Cooper that diplomat Joseph Wilson's 2002 trip to Niger to investigate whether Iraq tried to buy uranium there was authorized by his wife, ``who apparently works'' at the CIA. Newsweek cited an e-mail Cooper sent to his editors that the magazine said has been turned over to the prosecutor. Newsweek reported that Rove's lawyer, Robert Luskin, said Rove never mentioned Plame's name or that she was a covert agent. "

Does it matter? It is obvious what Rove did, whether he used Plame's name or not, and that is treasonous.

Murray goes on: "Cooper and another reporter, Judith Miller of the New York Times, were ordered to disclose their sources to the prosecutor investigating the leak, and Miller is now in jail for refusing. Cooper agreed to testify. Plame's name surfaced after Wilson wrote an opinion article for the New York Times criticizing the Bush's administration's case for going to war in Iraq. "

This connection of retaliation, even from the corporatist Bloomberg News, is called motive in a Court of Law. Many have been put away for less.

So the drama continues - one reporter in jail, one compromising the First Amendment, and one man behind the curtain about to take the fall. It shows that massive corruption of the Bush Administration runs very deep.

Deep enough to pluck the guy who made BushCo king...
